Keble Early Music Festival 2024

Join Andrew Parrott at the Keble Early Music Festival, Oxford, this February.

On Friday 23rd February, Andrew will feature in two events at this year’s Keble Early Music Festival (2024), based at Keble College, Oxford.

At 4pm, he will be joined by distinguished music administrator and writer Sir Nicholas Kenyon for a conversation about the 50 years of Andrew’s Taverner Choir, Consort & Players. Join them in Keble O’Reilly Theatre for an insight into Andrew’s life and work, with more than a nod to his most recent book, The Pursuit of Musick.

Then, at 7.30pm in the beautiful Keble Chapel, Andrew will be joined by friends including Jakob Lindberg (archlute & guitar), Richard Boothby (viol), Emily Van Evera (soprano) and Charles Daniels (tenor) in an abridged reconstruction of a Taverner Consort programme from 1982, devised by Andrew for the Early Music Network. With the original title of ‘Good King Charles’s Golden Days,’ this programme creates a dialogue between the diaries of Samuel Pepys and John Evelyn and the music of Matthew Locke, John Blow, Henry Purcell and others.
